Description
# Surreal © Emmanuel Knibbe 2007
this is my first DD!
[ I want to precize that there's absolutely no manipulation on this photo.]
One day this dried rose has fallen on this old pic and inspired me this.
The rose symbolise the heart, that's why i've put it on the brain. Especially because in the Surreal movement the creations were ruled by heart and passion rather than the reason .
Then i add the needles, one on the head, and one in the eye.
It remembers me the quote : "Breton call them to close their eyes and speak their dreams".
It's also a tribute to Bunuel with his famous pic with the razor in the eye.
... In the background, André Breton
(french Poet, leader of the Literary & Artistic Movement :
" Le Surréalisme" create in Paris, in the years 1920.)
The works they present feature the element of surprise, unexpected juxtapositions and non sequitur.)
Influenced by Freudianism and dedicated to the expression of imagination as revealed in dreams, free of the conscious control of reason and free of convention.
André Breton was explicit in his assertion that Surrealism was above all a revolutionary movement.
( Many of its adherents had belonged to the Dada movement. )
André Breton, Philippe Soupault, Robert Desnos, Antonin Artaud, Louis Aragon, Paul Eluard, Jean Cocteau, Man Ray, André Masson, René Magritte, Max Ernst, Salvador Dali, Joan Miro, Luis Bunuel,....
